WATCH: Lightning Strikes Nearby While Springfield Man Brings In Trash Barrel

SPRINGFIELD (CBS) – A Springfield man had a close call during a storm this week.

A home security camera showed him taking in his trash barrel Tuesday while lightning strikes,

A bellowing boom can be heard while the man runs for safety, and smoke rises from where the lightning struck.

The bolt hit in the backyard across the street from where the video was taken, but still too close for comfort.
