Somerville School Closed After Roof Collapse

SOMERVILLE (CBS) – A roof collapse at the Brown School in Somerville will keep the building closed for a month.

No one was inside when the roof above one the bathrooms caved in.

Classes were canceled Wednesday and there's no school on Thursday.

Three other Somerville schools will take in the displaced students while repairs are underway.

  • Kindergarten: Capuano Early Childhood Center (Glen St.)
  • Grades 1-5: Edgerly School (Cross St.)
  • Grade 6: East Somerville Community School (Cross St.)
  • After school activities: Edgerly School
