Some Communities To Inspect Market Basket Stores For Food Safety

MIDDLETON (CBS) – Several communities plan to inspect their local Market Basket stores to assure they are meeting food safety standards after weeks of shelves going unstocked.

Middleton plans to inspect its Market Basket store, including void areas and spaces where cold products are stored, Derek Fullerton, the town's public health director told WBZ NewsRadio 1030. The town also plans to make sure refrigerators are keeping products at the proper temperature.

The director said he plans to make a follow-up inspection in three weeks.

North Andover checked its store as well, WBZ NewsRadio 1030 reported.  No problems were found.
