Driver Killed, Car Destroyed In Snow Plow Crash In West Roxbury

WEST ROXBURY (CBS) – A driver was killed in a violent collision between a snow plow and a car in West Roxbury early Thursday morning.

It happened around 1:15 a.m. on Washington Street near the Dedham line.

Boston Police told WBZ-TV a man driving a sedan hit a pickup truck that was equipped with a snow plow and sand spreader. The driver of the car was rushed to a local hospital where he died. His name has not been made public.  Two other people were hurt in the wreck, but police said the injuries were minor.

There's no word yet on what caused the crash, which destroyed the car.

Both vehicles were towed away about five hours after the collision.

Robert McNeil told WBZ-TV his son lives near the crash site.

"It woke him up, he said he did not hear any skid marks, any skids. It was just a big explosion," he said.

No other information is available at this point in the investigation.
