Snow emergencies, parking bans declared for potential blizzard in Massachusetts

Parking bans and snow emergencies are in effect across Massachusetts as a potential blizzard could bring up to two feet of snow Sunday night into Monday. 

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu will have a news conference Sunday morning on the city's preparations for the storm. You can watch it live on CBS News Boston in the embedded video at 9:30 a.m.

Abington - Emergency parking ban starting at 8 p.m. Sunday and continuing until 6 a.m. Tuesday

Boston - Starting at 2 p.m. Sunday. Vehicles parked on major streets after that time will be towed

Cambridge - Snow emergency parking ban beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Chelsea - Snow parking ban began beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Everett - Parking ban starting at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Fall River - Parking ban beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday

Framingham - Emergency snow parking ban beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Hopkinton - Parking ban in effect from 3 p.m. Sunday until 12 a.m. Monday.

Kingston - Snow emergency parking ban beginning at 12 p.m. on Sunday through 12 p.m. Tuesday.

Mansfield - Parking ban in effect through 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. Tuesday.

New Bedford - Emergency parking ban starting at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Norwell - Parking ban beginning at 4 p.m. and lasting until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Provincetown - Parking ban starting at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Reading - Snow parking ban beginning Sunday evening until 6 a.m. Tuesday. 

Somerset - Parking ban beginning at 12 p.m. and ending Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Somerville - Snow emergency parking ban beginning at 12 p.m.

Weymouth - Parking ban beginning 8 p.m. Sunday.

Worcester - A winter parking ban began on Wednesday Feb 18 and remains in effect.

Boston parking ban 

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu said the parking ban in the city could last potentially all the way to Tuesday morning.

"We want to give some extra time there just to be able to take care of the streets as much as possible," Wu said Saturday. "There's already still snow on the ground, really get to the curb so that the city can reopen as quickly as possible after this blizzard takes place."
