Snow Causes Messy Commute In Worcester

WORCESTER (CBS) - A blast of winter weather made driving treacherous in Worcester Tuesday night.

"It's scary too, cause I almost went into the cars," said Ashley Carpenter who tried and tried to make her way up Eastern Ave, but finally had to give up and turn around. "The main roads are just wet not these side roads, no good."

Anyone hitting the hills around Worcester faced a battle.

The snow was falling so fast it was hard to treat in time for the evening commute home.

Another Worcester driver said, "It's really unsafe, it's not a joke can't even walk up it."

Salt trucks were busy, loading up and moving out.

But too many cars and too much snow made for a treacherous traffic mess. It's a scene we haven't seen in a year, but winter has returned.

Too bad Mother Nature's timing was terrible, yet again.
