Smell Of Burning Bread Crumbs Causes AA Flight To Divert To Boston

BOSTON (CBS) ---The smell of burning bread crumbs caused an American Airlines flight to divert back to Boston, Sunday morning.

Flight 1532 left Boston at 6:36 a.m. and was headed to Miami when people on board smelled smoke.

The fight was turned back around toward Boston and landed at Logan at 7:10 a.m.

A spokesperson from American Airlines says once on the ground, it was discovered the smell was from burning bread crumbs. The oven was cleaned and the flight took off again at 8:20 a.m.

One hundred fifty passengers and five crew members were onboard the aircraft.
