Showings Of 'The Interview' Sell Out In Cambridge
BOSTON (CBS) - "The Interview" debuted on the big screen at Apple Cinemas in Cambridge. Many who attended went for more than a laugh.
"I wanted to exercise my opportunity to be able to see the movie and exercise my free speech," said moviegoer Judi Burten.
"I am excited to see the movie. I am here to be part of history," Lee Herman said.
Apple Cinemas planned to show the movie seven times on Christmas Day. Before the theater opened in the early afternoon three of those shows were already sold out.

Sony initially pulled the movie after hackers targeted the company and released embarrassing emails. And, terroristic threats were made against theaters planning to show the film. Earlier in the week, the FBI linked the Sony hack to North Korea.
The company released the film on digital platforms on Wednesday.
Michael Lynton, Sony CEO, released a statement saying in part, "This release represents our commitment to our filmmakers and free speech."
Reaction to the movie was split between those enticed to see the movie by the controversy and those who wanted to see it prior to the headlines. Those who had already put "The Interview" on their must-watch list were fans of the movie and others were not impressed.
