Sherborn Firefighters Rescue Horse From Mud

SHERBORN (CBS) – A harness and bulldozer were used to rescue a horse that was stuck in the mud at the Sherborn deputy fire chief's farm.

The horse wandered into the mud around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday night on North Main Street, sinking up to its chest.

While attempting to rescue to the horse, firefighters were dealing with difficult footing. Several times, rescuers began to sink into the ground.

A sling used to rescue large animals was brought in and attached to a bulldozer, which lifted the horse onto solid footing.

In total, the rescue and removal of the bulldozer took about three hours.

The horse was tired and cold, but appeared to be unhurt otherwise.
