Seekonk Police Looking For Driver In Fatal Hit And Run

SEEKONK, Mass. (AP) — Police are seeking the public's help in finding a motorist who struck and killed a pedestrian in southeastern Massachusetts and fled the scene.

Seekonk police say they received a call late Friday night about an injured person on Arcade Avenue.

They say the 51-year-old woman was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Her name wasn't immediately released.

Police say the vehicle that struck the woman likely has front-end damage, which could include damage to the passenger-side headlight. They believe the vehicle traveled south on Arcade Avenue toward Taunton Avenue after hitting her.
