Second Suspect In Mass. Kidnapping Arrested In Baltimore

BOSTON (CBS) -- A second kidnapping suspect has been arrested after police say two people forced a 49-year-old woman into a trunk in Lawrence last month.

Adynew Alves, 28, of Boston turned himself in to Baltimore police on Thursday night. His co-defendant, 28-year-old Stephanie Walker of Lawrence, was apprehended at a motel in Baltimore on Saturday.

On Sept. 23, police say Alves and Walker forced a 49-year-old woman into a trunk in Lawrence and drove south on Route 24. The woman was able to escape the trunk in Taunton, where she was helped by motorists.

Alves is facing charges of kidnapping, armed assault and assault battery, while Walker is being held on charges of kidnapping and assault and battery.
