Second Suspect Arrested In Murder Of Waltham Teen

BOSTON (CBS) – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Waltham teen.

Domingo Mendes, 22, was wanted in the shooting death of 17-year-old Tyler Zanco on March 20. The shooting happened in the parking lot at 31 Middlesex Circle in Waltham.

Mendes turned himself in to Waltham Police Thursday night on an outstanding warrant for murder, possession of a firearm, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Taylor Poulin, 21, of Newton, was arrested last month in connection with the shooting. He is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unlicensed possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and conspiracy to violate the drug laws. He is being held without bail.

Police believe the suspects and the victim knew each other and this was not a random attack.

Mendes is expected to be arraigned Friday in Waltham District Court.
