Search Crews Recover Woman's Body From Lake In Billerica

BILLERICA (CBS) - The body of a 60-year-old Billerica woman was pulled from a lake on Thursday morning.

Officers found an abandoned canoe on Nuttings Lake around 6:30 a.m. A few hours later, just before 10 a.m., Billerica Police received a report of a missing person.

Investigators were able to determine that the person, Lorna Rutkauskas, was the owner of the canoe that had been recovered from the lake.

Rescue crews immediately launched a search operation. Rutkauskas' body was recovered a short time later.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
