Yarmouth Police Quickly Sell Out Of Plush Version Of Injured K-9 Nero

YARMOUTH (CBS) – Police quickly sold out of a limited number of stuffed animals representing injured Yarmouth Police K-9 Nero.

Cape Cod Hospital registered nurse Denise Kalbach designed the plush police dogs. They were being sold for $20 apiece to benefit the Yarmouth Police Foundation, but sold out within hours.

Nero was the canine partner of Sgt. Sean Gannon, who was fatally wounded while serving a search warrant earlier this year.

A stuffed version of Gannon's retired K-9 Thor was also being sold. Only 50 stuffed animals were available at the in-person sale.

In addition to selling out the "first litter" of stuffed animals, police said they took hundreds more orders and will open an online store soon.
