Santa Claus Falls Into Scituate Harbor
SCITUATE (CBS) -- Santa Claus showed one crowd this year that the sleigh really is his best mode of transportation.
Santa arrived by boat to the Mill Wharf Marina in Scituate Saturday morning to kick off the annual Santa Stroll. After getting off the Harbormaster's boat, Santa accidentally fell off the pier walkway and into the water while reaching out to greet a child.
Scituate police and harbor staff helped pull Santa out of the water. Despite being drenched, he continued the stroll by getting into a fire truck and heading to The Harbor Community Center for pictures with the children.
