Methuen 22-Year-Old Clocked At 128 MPH On I-93 In NH

NORTHFIELD, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire state police say they clocked a Massachusetts driver doing 128 mph on Interstate 93 in Northfield.

Authorities say 22-year-old Samuel Melo, of Methuen, Massachusetts, was stopped at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday and charged with reckless driving. The posted speed limit on that stretch of the interstate is 70 mph.

Melo is due in Franklin District Court on Sept. 13.

The New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit has been operating extra patrols to curb speeding and aggressive driving conduct.
