Police Locate Anthony Lonano, Son After Salem Parental Abduction

SALEM (CBS) – State and local police located a man who didn't bring his son home to Salem after a pre-arranged visit Tuesday evening. Anthony Lonano was found in Woburn and police took custody of the boy.

Police said the boy is "safe and sound."

Wednesday afternoon, Massachusetts State Police asked the public to be on the lookout for Lonano, who was believed to be driving a 2020 Toyota Camry with Massachushetts plates.

State Police said Lonano, 40, has shared custody of his 11-year-old son, but he did not return the boy home as he was supposed to do at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police were reviewing the incident to determine if it reached criteria for an AMBER Alert.

Before an alert was issued, Woburn Police stopped the suspect vehicle on Main Street near Kirby Street.
