State police said the crash between a car, driven by an 86-year-old Quincy man, and a tractor-trailer, driven by a 53-year-old Taunton man, happened at 11:38 a.m. on Route 6 Eastbound. The car, which was leaking gas, was wedged underneath the tractor-trailer. The bridge had to be closed so a heavy-duty tow truck could lift the tractor-trailer off the car.
The bridge reopened at 3:55 p.m.
Police did not identify the drivers in the accident. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
