Running Shoes Meant For Marathon Bombing Survivors Stolen

BOSTON (CBS) -- Police are looking for the thief who stole shoes for runners on a Boston Marathon bombing survivors team, just days before the race.

Someone stole eleven pairs of New Balance sneakers from the trunk of a car on Commonwealth Avenue on Wednesday. Doug Julian, the driver of the car who still suffers from hearing issues from the explosions, said he had been collecting the equipment.

Julian is part of the Boston Marathon Survivors Group running in Monday's race. The sneakers were all donated by New Balance.

A note was left next to the car that said "2UFROM Me" and had a smiley face. The car doors appear to have been left unlocked.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
