Woman Allegedly On Drugs Causes Rollover Crash On I-495 In Milford

MILFORD (CBS) - Three people were hurt when a car being driven by a woman allegedly on drugs rolled over a guardrail on Interstate 495 in Milford during rush hour Wednesday morning.

It happened in the northbound lanes near exit 20 just before 7 a.m.

State Police said they don't know yet what caused the Toyota Yaris to flip over.

The driver, 30-year-old Danika-Leigh Chapman from Sanford, Maine was trapped in the wreckage and had to be pulled out by firefighter.  She was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with a minor injury.

A 36-year-old from Windham, Maine and a 27-year-old from Weymouth were out of the car when authorities arrived.  Both men went to Milford Hospital with minor injuries.

After an investigation, police found that Chapman was operating under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.

Chapman has been charged with operating under the influence, possession of the Class A drug Ketamine, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and using a motor vehicle without authority.
