Ejected Passenger Fatally Struck By Several Cars In Stoughton Crash

STOUGHTON (CBS) -- A passenger ejected in a crash on Route 24 in Stoughton early Sunday morning was struck by several other vehicles and died, according to officials.

Massachusetts State Police said troopers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on the northbound side of the road by Exit 20 just after 3 a.m. It's believed that a 1999 Acura traveling north crashed for an unknown reason, causing the passenger to be ejected.

"The ejected passenger was then struck by several vehicles," police said.

Paramedics transported the passenger to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, and his identity has not been released. Police said a 20-year-old Brockton man in the Acura was also being treated for injuries.

The northbound lanes were reopened just before 9 a.m.

The crash is still under investigation.
