Suspect Wanted For Revere Stabbing Captured In Route 1 Traffic In Saugus

SAUGUS (CBS) – Massachusetts State Police took a stabbing suspect who was in a stolen truck into custody at gunpoint during the Thursday morning commute on Route 1 in Saugus.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. near the shopping plaza that includes Skechers, Vitamin Shoppe and Starbucks.

Traffic was briefly stopped following the incident, but began to flow again when cruisers moved off the road into the plaza parking lot.

State Police said 32-year-old Jason Dulcetta was wanted for stabbing a family member in the chest with a crowbar in Revere around midnight.

The incident happened on Jordan Street. One man was taken to an area hospital. Sources told the WBZ-TV I-Team that the victim is expected to survive.

An officer saw a person he believed to be Dulcetta in the victim's stolen Ford F250 at McDonald's and called for backup around 8 a.m. The trooper and additional cruisers surrounded the truck and arrested Dulcetta without incident.

Dulcetta is charged with attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60 years old, and using a motor vehicle without authority.
