Aerosmith Drummer's Coffee Shop Sparks Route 1 Traffic Concerns

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — A new coffee shop backed by Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer is scheduled to open in North Attleborough soon, but some town officials have concerns.

The Rockin' & Roastin' Cafe on U.S. Route 1 plans a "soft launch" Wednesday or Thursday with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting featuring Kramer himself planned for July 1.

Police and fire department officials tell The Sun Chronicle they are keeping an eye on traffic going in and out of the coffee shop, which is at an already-congested area of the highway.

For now, neither department is taking pre-emptive measures while they wait to see whether action is warranted.

An official with the car dealership that offered the space to the cafe says they are prepared for extra traffic, with staff to assist with parking.
