Robi On The Road: Andover Teen Science Wiz Meets The President
ANDOVER (CBS) - How many eighth graders can say they've met the President of the United States?
Floyd Greenwood, a 13-year old from Andover, can lay claim to that.

He not only met President Obama, he shook his hand and later told his father "I'm never washing this hand again."
Floyd is a student at the West Middle School and he's quite the science wiz.
He was recently chosen as one of the 30 finalists out of 2,054 applicants in a national science fair.
His project was called "Selectively Breeding Nannochloropsis Microalgae To Become A Healthier Feedstock For Freshwater Rotifers."
Sounds like a PHD thesis!
What Floyd did was find a way to create healthier algae.
Rotifers are microorganisms that feed on algae.
If fish eat healthier algae, they become better food for humans.
Floyd told WBZ he believes it's important for young people to become interested in science because our society is rapidly innovating and science and technology play a big part in that innovation.
