Gronk Appears In Fake Movie Trailer For 'Madden '16', Hopefully Isn't Cursed
To steal a line from Pedro Martinez..I don't believe in damn curses. And as far as sports curses go, the Madden curse is as annoying as it gets.
But if the thing turns out to be real, the Patriots could be in trouble. Watch the above video for a fake trailer for the newest Madden game, in which Rob Gronkowski appears as "Half-Top" - because he's wearing a ridiculous half-top, get it?!
The Madden "curse" has only really existed because people shoehorn reasons for it to make sense when a player doesn't simply get injured. It's really just tinfoil-hat nonsense and stopped being funny about 6 years ago.
But if Gronk gets injured this season, you better believe there will be millions who blame it on Madden. Those curse-gods are going to have their work cut out for them this year, because they would also need to sabotage Rex Ryan, Colin Kaepernick, Antonio Brown, and Julio Jones.
Patriots fans will watch every play Gronk makes with bated breath, hoping he doesn't go down for good. With the way he plays and his history of getting banged up, there will be a lot of wincing and grimacing in Patriots Nation as long as he's around.
And for believers in the Madden Curse, this trailer won't make things any easier.
