Rob Gronkowski: 'I'm Ready To Go' For Week 1 Vs. Dolphins

FOXBORO (CBS) -- In his recovery from a torn ACL and MCL, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski did not play one snap in the preseason. But fear not: Gronk says he's all systems go for Week 1.

Gronkowski spoke to the media on Monday and announced that he'll be ready to suit up and play come Sunday afternoon in Miami.

"I'm good to go. I'll be playing," Gronkowski said. "Super excited. ... It's going to be an honor to be back out there with my teammates, so I'm super pumped, super excited and I'm just preparing for the game."

The 25-year-old said he's not sure exactly how much he'll play.

"Probably not every single snap," he said. "Just get out there, get my feet wet and whatever the coaches have, whatever we game-plan this week, we'll be good."

Gronkowski suffered the torn knee last December, when safety T.J. Ward went low to make a tackle. The plan throughout training camp was for Gronkowski to be ready once the regular season began, but his low participation in many hitting drills throughout camp and his absence in the preseason games fueled some speculation that he would need more time.

But on Monday, Gronkowski played the role of breaking news reporter.

"I'm getting it out of the way now," he said. "Now you don't got no random source up there."

Gronkowski played in just seven games last season, catching 39 passes for 592 yards and four touchdowns. In six career games against the Dolphins, Gronkowski has 24 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns.

"I feel mentally and physically ready, for sure, no doubt about it," Gronkowski said.
