Rhode Island Man Killed In Dartmouth Crash

DARTMOUTH (CBS) -- Police said a Rhode Island man died after the vehicle he was in hit a utility pole in Dartmouth Sunday night.

The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. on Old River Road Sunday. The operator, a 20-year-old man from Riverside, R.I., and three other passengers were all taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Another passenger, 17, was taken to Hasbro Hospital in Rhode Island.

Around 1:30 a.m., one of the passengers, Travis Rainville, 20, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

Dartmouth Police said that it was believed no one in the vehicle was wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Dartmouth and Massachusetts State Police are investigating. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
