Revolution Advance To MLS Cup With 2-2 Draw Vs NY

FOXBOROUGH (AP) — Charlie Davies scored two goals, the second to tie it in the 70th minute, and the New England Revolution advanced to the MLS Cup on Saturday.

The 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls gave New England a 4-3 victory in the two-game, aggregate goals Eastern Conference finals.

The Revolution will play for their first championship Dec. 7 against the winner of the Western Conference final between the Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles Galaxy. The Galaxy won the first game of that series 2-1, with the second game in Seattle on Sunday night.

It's the fifth trip to the MLS Cup for the Revolution, who are still looking for their first championship.

Chris Tierney assisted on both New England goals.

Tim Cahill and Peguy Luyindula scored for the Red Bulls.
