Resident, Firefighter Injured In Early Morning Brookline House Fire

BROOKLINE (CBS) -- A resident and firefighter were injured in an early morning fire at a home in Brookline.

Firefighters responded to the 2-alarm fire on Cypress Street around 3:30a.m. Tuesday. Four people were home at the time.

A woman was rescued from the third floor and taken to the hospital and is in serious condition, according to Brookline Fire.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital with a minor back injury.

Fire officials say there was extensive fire damage on the second and third floor. The first floor mostly incurred water damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
