Report: Red Sox To Send Scout To Tim Tebow's Baseball Workout

BOSTON (CBS) -- Former football player Tim Tebow wants to play baseball. The Boston Red Sox are at least slightly interested.

Red Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski said Tuesday that the team will be sending a scout to Tebow's workout, according to The Boston Globe's Peter Abraham.

Tebow's workout will be held in Los Angeles on Aug. 30., and at least 20 teams are expected to send scouts, according to ESPN.

Tebow hasn't played baseball since high school, but his athleticism and size are enough to at least get a look from the majority of MLB clubs.

Tebow hasn't played in the NFL since the 2012 season. He was a member of the Patriots in the summer of 2013 but was released before the season began, and his comeback attempt with the Philadelphia Eagles last season ended with another release before the start of the season.
