Patriots Reportedly Trade For Eagles Cornerback Eric Rowe

BOSTON (CBS) -- Just days before the season kicks off, Bill Belichick is making moves.

According to reports, the Patriots traded for cornerback Eric Rowe from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Early in the day, it was reported that the Patriots were sending offensive lineman Josh Kline to the Eagles in exchange for Rowe.

But by about 6 p.m., multiple reports indicated that Kline will not be included in the deal.

No trade was listed on the NFL transaction wire at day's end.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that instead of Kline, the Patriots will send a conditional draft pick to Philadelphia.

The 6-foot-1 Rowe, 23, was drafted in the second round of last year's NFL Draft, at No. 47 overall. As a rookie, the 6-foot-1 corner played in all 16 games, starting five, and he made one interception while defensing five passes. He also made 30 total tackles.

In college at Utah, he made four interceptions and 261 total tackles in 47 games.

The Eagles have reportedly been shopping Rowe this summer, as he's reportedly had trouble adjusting to the new scheme set in place by new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.

Kline, 26, joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He played in 33 games over the past three seasons, starting 18 times.
