Patriots Re-Sign Austin Collie, Place Josh Boyce On IR

BOSTON (CBS) -  Austin Collie is back with the New England Patriots -- again.

The team signed the veteran wide receiver for the third time this season on Thursday, placing rookie receiver Josh Boyce on injured reserve.

Collie was released last Friday, but gives the Patriots with a little more depth at the wide receiver position heading into the postseason.

The five-year veteran played in seven games for the Patriots this season, hauling in six catches for 63 yards. He has 17 receptions for 241 yards and two touchdowns in three career playoff games, all in 2009 with the Indianapolis Colts.

Collie, who last played in New England's Week 16 win in Baltimore, practiced with the team on Thursday.
