Report: Patriots Acquire WR Keshawn Martin

BOSTON (CBS) -- A day after waiving rookie receiver Chris Harper, the Patriots have filled the roster spot.

According to the Houston Chronicle's John McClain, the Patriots have acquired wide receiver Keshawn Martin.

Martin, 25, was a fourth-round pick in 2012 by the Texans. He's played in 48 games in three years, making 38 receptions for 416 yards and three touchdowns.

The best offensive season for the 5-foot-11, 194-pound Martin came in 2013, when he caught 22 passes for 253 yards and two scores. He made five catches for 31 yards and a touchdown in Houston's preseason finale against Dallas.

He's also returned 86 punts, averaging 8.9 yards per return and taking one back for a touchdown. He's returned 68 kickoffs, averaging 25.1 yards per return.

The return for Martin was not immediately reported.
