Report: Patriots Acquire LB Kyle Van Noy From Lions

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots swung a deal ahead of the Nov. 1 trade deadline, acquiring linebacker Kyle Van Noy and a 2017 seventh-round pick from the Detroit Lions for a 2017 sixth-round pick, according to ESPN's Field Yates and James Walker.

Van Noy was a 2014 second-round draft pick for the Lions out of Brigham Young University. The Lions selected Van Noy 40th overall, 22 picks before the Patriots drafted quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Van Noy has played in 30 games in three NFL seasons with the Lions. He had started all seven games for the Lions so far in 2016, registering 21 tackles with no sacks.
