Patriots WR Aaron Dobson Placed On Injured Reserve

BOSTON (CBS) -- The season is over for Patriots wide receiver Aaron Dobson.

Dobson has been placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, the Patriots announced Thursday evening.

The second-year wide out had just three receptions for 38 yards in the four games he played this season. He was targeted once Sunday in Green Bay, the first time he saw the field since Week 6 in Buffalo, but pulled up grabbing his hamstring after running a route up the sideline.

Dobson started the season battling a foot injury in training camp, and was a healthy scratch in three of New England's first four games. He also reportedly got into a verbal spat with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, a report head coach Bill Belichick refuted.

In 16 career games since being drafted in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Marshall, Dobson has 40 receptions for 557 yards and four touchdowns for the Patriots.

98.5 The Sports Hub's Scott Zolak said on air Wednesday that Dobson, given the season he's having and history of injuries, is no lock to make the roster next year.
