Report: Julian Edelman's Contract For Four Years, Up To $19 Million

BOSTON (CBS) -- The details of Julian Edelman's new contract with the Patriots have mostly remained a mystery for several days, but a report on Tuesday has finally provided the specifics.

According to Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo (via Twitter), Edelman's contract is for four years and can be worth as much as $19 million.

That includes $17 million in base salary and $2 million more in incentives. Just $8 million of the deal is guaranteed.

The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe added that Edelman received a $5 million signing bonus.

It's a massive pay raise for Edelman, who signed a one-year, $715,000 contract last offseason.

Edelman, who will turn 28 in May, went on to lead the Patriots in receptions (105) and receiving yards (1,056) while also catching six touchdowns and returning 35 points and averaging 10.7 yards per return.

He also caught 16 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' two postseason games.
