Report: Julian Edelman Doesn't Travel With Team, Unlikely To Play In Season Finale

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots will be without the services of Julian Edelman for their regular-season finale in Miami on Sunday.

The receiver had practiced in a limited capacity this week, but he reportedly did not fly with the team to Miami, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Edelman has been out since Week 10, when he broke his foot in the Patriots' game against the New York Giants. At the time, it was believed that Edelman would need six to eight weeks to recover. That game took place seven weeks ago.

The receiver caught 61 passes for 692 yards and seven receptions this season.

The Patriots need a win to secure the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC for the postseason. When the Patriots host a divisional round game in mid-January, Edelman will have had a full eight weeks to recover.
