Report: Crumbs Bake Shop Closes All Locations Nationwide
BOSTON (CBS) - What was once the largest chain of cupcake shops in the country has closed, CBS New York reported.
The Crumbs Bake Shop, which had 48 stores nationwide, including two in Boston, one in Natick and one in Braintree, shuttered all of its locations on Monday.
The business was reported to be the largest chain of cupcake bakeries in the country when it went public during a gourmet cupcake boom in 2011.
Crumbs opened in 2003 on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
The chain offered more than 50 varieties each baked fresh daily and a new cupcake of the week every Monday.
