Report: Bruins Claim Corey Potter Off Waivers

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Bruins' first move of deadline day was a relatively small one, with the team claiming Corey Potter off waivers.

TSN's Ryan Rishaug reported the news first, via Twitter.

Potter, 30, was placed on waivers by the Oilers on Tuesday. He is a right-shot defenseman with no goals and five assists to go with an even plus-minus rating in 16 NHL games.

Potter has eight goals and 24 assists in 120 career NHL games, split with the Rangers, Penguins and Oilers.

The 6-foot-3, 206-pound defenseman posted 3-1-4 totals and a plus-8 rating in 33 NHL games last season for Edmonton.
