Report: Broncos, DeMarcus Ware Agree On Three-Year Deal

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Denver Broncos mean business this offseason.

Serious business.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, DeMarcus Ware agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with the Broncos on Wednesday.

Ware, 31, is the Dallas Cowboys' all-time leader in sacks, but he was released on Tuesday so the team could clear up some cap space.

Ware is the third big-name acquisition for the Denver defense, joining cornerback Aqib Talib and safety T.J. Ward.

Schefter reported that $20 million of the $30 million is guaranteed.

The Broncos were an offensive juggernaut led by Peyton Manning last season, setting an NFL record for points scored en route to a 13-3 season. However, they lost the Super Bowl to the Seattle Seahawks and their superior defense, and that side of the ball has clearly been John Elway's focus early in free agency.

Ware had six sacks last season, a significant dropoff from the first eight seasons of his career, when he averaged 14 sacks per season.
