Aqib Talib Signs With Denver Broncos

BOSTON (CBS) - Free agent cornerback Aqib Talib is heading to the Denver Broncos.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported that the six-year deal is worth $57 million, with $26 million guaranteed.

The Broncos confirmed the signing late Tuesday night on their Twitter account.

Talib, 28, was traded to the Patriots midway through the 2012 season. He signed a one-year, $5 million pact with New England last offseason, and gave the Patriots the best cornerback the team has had in years.

However, Talib battled through a hip injury during the regular season and was unable to play through the AFC Championship Game after taking a hit by Wes Welker over the middle of the field, and the Patriots eventually lost to the Denver Broncos.

NFL free agency began at 4 p.m. Tuesday and there were reports that the Patriots were close to re-signing Talib.
