Rep. Joe Kennedy Among Top 25 Richest In Congress, Report Says

BOSTON (CBS) -- Massachusetts Rep. Joe Kennedy III ranks among the top 25 richest members of Congress this year, according to Roll Call.

Kennedy's net worth is reportedly more than $18.6 million, which puts him at No. 22 on the list. He dropped just one spot from the previous year.

Senator Elizabeth Warren comes in at No. 71, with a net worth of nearly $4.3 million. She moved up five spots from the previous year.

Four other Massachusetts representatives have a net worth of more than $1 million, including Rep. Niki Tsongas at No. 146 ($1.7 million), Rep. William Keating at No. 156 (about $1.5 million), Rep. Michael Capuano at No. 158 ($1.4 million) and Rep. Katherine Clark at No. 176 with more than $1.2 million.

Of the 11 Massachusetts politicians appearing on the list, Capuano saw the biggest move up, jumping 30 spots from his No. 188 ranking last year. Meanwhile, Clark slipped the most, falling 14 spots from her No. 162 ranking the previous year.

Also appearing on the list are Sen. Edward Markey at No. 198 ($950,000), Rep. Jim McGovern at No. 208 ($820,000), Rep. Stephen Lynch at No. 276 ($410,000) and Rep. Richard Neal at No. 372 with a net worth of $70,000.

Freshman Congressman Seth Moulton was the lone Massachusetts politician to have a negative net worth of $10,000. The state's 6th Congressional District Representative placed No. 419.

California Congressman Darrell Issa topped the list again, with a net worth of nearly $255 million.

Coming in last place for the second consecutive year was Rep. David Valadao, also from California, whose current net worth is negative $8.75 million.

Roll Call says they compiled their Wealth of Congress Index after reviewing the financial disclosures of all 541 senators, representatives and delegates. They have been putting together the annual list since 1990.
