Remains Found In Upton Identified As Missing Avon Man

BOSTON (CBS) – Remains found in a wooded area in Upton last weekend have been identified as a missing Avon man.

James "Jamie" Robertson disappeared New Year's Day 2014, when he was kidnapped by two men from his home.

Robertson's family tells WBZ that State Police notified them of the identification. They say although they knew what the outcome would be, it still hurts.

The two men who allegedly kidnapped Roberston had handguns and badges. They claimed they were taking Robertson for a random probation-related drug test.

Scott Morrison of Norfolk and Alfred Ricci of Canton were arrested in May 2014 and charged with kidnapping 37-year-old Robertson.

Three months later, Dedham Police Officer Michael Schoener was arrested for allegedly supplying the badge, holster, and handcuffs used in the kidnapping. Prosecutors said Schoener gave the items to James Feeny, a man he allegedly bought pills from, before they were used by Morrison and Ricci.

In November, authorities asked deer hunters to be on the lookout for Robertson's remains.
