Red Sox Trade Shane Victorino To Angels For Josh Rutledge

BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Red Sox have traded outfielder Shane Victorino and cash considerations to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in exchange for infielder Josh Rutledge.

To fill Victorino's spot on the 25-man roster, outfielder Rusney Castillo was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket and is expected to start against the Chicago White Sox at Fenway Park Monday night.

Rutledge, 26, has been in the minors all season long. With the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees, Rutledge is batting .274 with 19 doubles, three triples, five homers, 32 RBI, 19 walks, and 45 runs scored.

Castillo, 28, has made 26 appearances in one stint with the Red Sox this season, starting 14 games in right field and four in center field. He has hit .230 with six runs scored, a double, a home run, and six RBI.

The Red Sox open a four game series with the White Sox at Fenway Park Monday night.
