WATCH: Hanley Ramirez Holds His Own Press Conference Ahead Of Red Sox Home Opener

BOSTON (CBS) --  Like Manny being Manny, the Red Sox now have Hanley being Hanley.

But this has nothing to do with any antics on the field. Instead, Boston's new Ramirez is simply really, really excited for the team's home opener on Monday.

The Sox first baseman was at Fenway Park bright and early on Monday, and even before his manager could take the podium to talk with the media, Ramirez decided to hold a press conference of his own -- by himself.

Watch as WBZ-TV cameraman Matt Colson, setting up for John Farrell's pregame press conference, catches Ramirez chatting to no one about his excitement for the Fenway Park opener.

Ramirez and the Red Sox have plenty to smile about, returning home after a 3-2 road trip to start the season. Ramirez has had plenty of success at the plate so far, going 10-for-22 for a .455 average with four RBIs, and is looking good in his first go-around at first base.
