Red Sox Reportedly Among Possible Landing Spots For Brad Ziegler

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Miami Marlins are expected to move right-handed reliever Brad Ziegler ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline, and Boston is reportedly one of his potential landing spots.

According to Jon Heyman, the Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians and Houston Astros are teams that could land the 38-year-old to help bolster their bullpens. Ziegler owns a 1-5 record with 10 saves this season, touting a 3.98 ERA in his 53 appearances.

Ziegler played in Boston in 2016, acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 9, and tossed 29.2 innings for the Sox. He went 2-4 with four saves to go with a 1.52 ERA and 1.247 WHIP during that brief stint in Boston before signing a two-year deal with the Marlins that offseason.

The MLB trade deadline is Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. EST.
