Reading Elementary School Evacuated For CO Incident

READING (CBS) --- The Barrows Elementary School in Reading was evacuated after a carbon monoxide detector went off inside the building.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Bernice Corpuz reports

A reverse 911 call was made to parents to alert them of the situation.

No injuries were reported.

The evacuated students were bused to Austin Prep, a half mile from the elementary school.

The elementary school will be closed for the rest of the day so investigators can determined what prompted the scare.

"We don't yet know what the source is, once we figure that out, we'll determine what's going to happen tomorrow," Superintendent John Doherty told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
