Randolph Woman Seriously Injured While Hiking In Berkshires

MOUNT WASHINGTON, Mass. (AP) – Police say a Randolph woman was flown to an Albany, N.Y., hospital after seriously injuring herself while hiking in the Berkshires.

State police say the 62-year-old woman fell about five feet down an embankment at Bash Bish Falls State Park in Mount Washington at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The woman's name and the exact nature of her injuries were not disclosed.

After a 90-minute rescue effort, the woman was taken to a nearby landing site where she was flown to Albany Medical Center.

Bash Bish Falls is the highest single-drop waterfall in Massachusetts, with a 60-foot drop.
