RANDOLPH (CBS) – Police located a car on Tuesday that they believe was involved in a pedestrian hit-and-run the previous night in Randolph.

Officers located a car at a dollar store in Randolph on Tuesday morning that matches the description of the involved vehicle.

Police say a man was hit Monday at about 6:30 p.m. at North Main and Jane streets.

"It's a busy road, and people are trying to cross all the time," says Tony Touma of Randolph. "He was trying to get up, but the EMTs were keeping him down, so he wouldn't hurt himself any more."

The car is registered in Massachusetts, but the owner's last address is outside of Houston, Texas. A phone call to the Texas residence was unanswered.

The victim of the hit and run is still hospitalized. Police would only say he's a 21-year-old male.

WBZ-TV's Bill Shields contributed to this report.
