2 Weymouth Men Killed In Single-Car Quincy Crash

QUINCY (CBS) – Two Weymouth men died Thursday after slamming into the base of a footbridge during a single-car crash in Quincy.

Massachusetts State Police said it happened around 10:40 a.m. on the Hancock Street ramp to the Neponset River Bridge in Quincy.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

State Police said a 74-year-old man was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus, and as the driver approached the Newport Ave. turnaround, he veered off the road. The car went over the sidewalk and slammed into the footbridge.

Both the driver and his 50-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
